I was walking past Columbia's bookstore and saw a faculty section with Bob Thall, Paul D'Amato, and Dawoud Bey's monographs peering at me. I had heard amazing things about Paul D'Amato as a teacher as well as already being intrigued by his images. While reading the introduction I realized that the series "Barrio" was photographed in Pilsen where I live here in Chicago. On top of that the web images do not do justice for the book at all. I hope to meet Mr. D'Amato soon here at school.
