Peter Fraser
"With each series of photographs I choose a different strategy to approach the same underlying preoccupation, which is, essentially, trying to understand what the world around me is made of, through the act of photographing it."
Peter Fraser, discussing the 2002 Retrospective at Photographers' Gallery
That quote speaks volumes to me.

This quote could also be: "I am a photographer."
to daniel: hahahaha. fotografo ergo sum!...
pete, i actually just read something rebecca rijdsjik said on her blog that was similar to the quote you posted and was equally struck by insight and clarity! it's funny how you can feel things but not understand them until there are words to describe it.
