William Boling. from series "Everyday Monuments".

"His [William Boling] work and photography explore the lyrical documentation of the vernacular landscape and his relationship to the ephemeral artifacts and situations that arise there. There are several significant voices in this work ranging from typological catalogs of recurring objects in situ -- such as traffic pylons; archives of “found” or “street curated” images – such as eBay auction pictures; and straight photography that is grounded in the emotional backdrop of the history of the thing and place itself and the photographer’s response to it -- such as the photographs of hometowns of Jasper Johns, Flannery O’Connor and other southern writers and artists whose lives and works have deep meaning for the artist."
